Dear Cucamonga School District Parents and Guardians,

We’re thrilled to share the fantastic adventures awaiting in our Super Mario Bros. Library at THE ONTARIO CENTER SCHOOL! Reading together at home not only strengthens your bond with your child but also fuels their imagination. We encourage you to carve out some time for shared reading, whether it’s a thrilling Mario story or another captivating book. Our library is stocked with amazing titles just waiting for your child to discover! Let’s inspire our young readers to dive into new stories and embark on their own literary journeys.

In addition, we are excited to announce that Ms. Jasmine Martinez has been sworn in as our new board member, stepping into the Trustee Area 5 vacancy. Ms. Martinez is committed to creating a positive learning environment for all students and will serve until the term ends in 2026. As a proud mother of two, with one child enrolled at Cucamonga Elementary School, she understands the vital role of parental involvement in education.   We warmly welcome Ms. Jasmine Martinez to our board and look forward to her valuable contributions!

Take Care,
Michael Chaix, Ed.D.

THE ONTARIO CENTER SCHOOL - SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT

By Principal Narrie Gavares

We are thrilled to announce that The Ontario Center School’s after-school enrichment and intervention programs have kicked off and we couldn’t be more excited to offer a little something for everyone! From creative adventures like art and theater to hands-on fun with lego building and cooking, these programs are designed to inspire curiosity and creativity in every student. And for our active kiddos, we’ve got running and yoga for kids to keep them moving, while our eSports program offers a space for strategy, teamwork, and friendly competition in the video game world. There’s no shortage of excitement after the bell rings!

These after-school opportunities not only help students build new skills and interests, but also provide targeted intervention programs for those who may need a little extra support. Whether your child is discovering a new passion or sharpening skills in making 10’s, there’s something for everyone. We are excited to see our students dive into these activities, make new friends, and grow in new ways! Let’s make this season of after-school fun the best yet!

LOS AMIGOS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT
By Principal Amber Arreguin

At Los Amigos, we are always excited to explore wonderful ways our staff and families can work together to foster a love of reading in our school community. Encouraging literacy at a young age opens doors to imagination, creativity, and lifelong learning.

Creating a community of readers begins with all of us—teachers, students, families, and community members. In our classrooms, we are dedicated to making reading a fun and engaging part of every school day. By encouraging our students to talk about what they’re reading, share favorite stories, and celebrate each other’s reading progress, we build a shared passion for books.

We are proud to offer students regular access to our digital library and our school library, a place where they can explore a wide variety of books that cater to their interests and reading levels. Students are encouraged to check out books regularly and share them with friends. Don’t forget to visit your local public library too—many offer special programs and events designed to inspire young readers!

Remember, books are gateways to discovery. By exploring areas of personal interest, students learn more about the world around them and find joy in reading. Encourage your child to explore their passions through books—they may discover new interests along the way!

Together, we can make reading a positive and enriching part of our children’s lives. Thank you for your continued support in helping to build a strong reading community at our school! Happy Reading!
