Dear Cucamonga School District Families,

We are excited to share that our Family Coding Night on Tuesday was a wonderful success! It was fantastic to see students and families come together to explore the world of coding. The event was filled with enthusiasm and creativity as participants worked through fun and engaging activities.

One parent even approached me to express her gratitude for offering this opportunity, saying how much she appreciated the event and hoped we continue to host similar events in the future. We are thrilled that the evening was so well-received, and we look forward to hosting more events like this in the future to support our students and families in learning new skills.

Thank you to everyone who attended, and stay tuned for more exciting events ahead!

Below are some pictures from the event that highlight the fun and learning that took place!

Take Care,

Michael Chaix, Ed.D.

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT

Cucamonga Elementary School

By Principal Dr. Jenna Garretson-Tremayne

We are absolutely thrilled to share some exciting news with our community! Our Cubs have achieved an incredible milestone by earning 500 Golden GRR Paws! This outstanding accomplishment is a testament to the collective spirit of our students, staff, and families working together to foster a positive, respectful, and caring school environment.

Golden GRR Paws are awarded to students who demonstrate key character traits that align with our school’s core values (Grit, Respect, Responsibility). Whole classes earn these by working collaboratively, showing empathy to others, being respectful to community members and the environment, and building healthy social relationships. These traits are essential not only for academic success but also are also sections within our District’s Portrait of a Graduate. Thanks to these shared efforts, we’ve seen a remarkable decrease in physical contact behaviors, which are now less than half of what they were last year. This significant progress reflects the dedicated work of our staff in teaching social-emotional lessons, the caring support provided at home, and the students’ commitment to growth.

To celebrate this incredible achievement, the Cub Council voted for a very special reward: the opportunity to see the principal get pied in the face! The energy and excitement from our students made the mess worth every second. Their cheers echoed through our school community, filling the hallways with joy and unity. It was a moment of shared celebration and pride, reminding us all of the power of perseverance, teamwork, and fun.

This achievement could not have happened without the partnership and support of you—our parents and guardians. Your reinforcement of these values at home plays a crucial role in helping our students become thoughtful, respectful, and empathetic individuals. We’re so proud of the growth we’re seeing in our students’ social skills, emotional well-being, and sense of responsibility toward one another.

Thank you for being an essential part of our journey. Together, we’re building a school community where every student can thrive and every milestone is celebrated with joy (and maybe a little whipped cream too!). We look forward to seeing what the celebration is when we hit 1,000 Golden GRR Paws later this year!

Have a wonderful, safe, and healthy Holiday Season!
