History Comes Alive at Our First Annual History Day!
This year marked a momentous occasion for our school as we proudly hosted our very first History Day! Thanks to the tireless efforts of our dedicated coordinators, Ms. Martinez, Ms. Peterman, and Mrs. Martinez and our teaching staff, students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 5th grade embarked on a journey through time, exploring the theme of "Rights and Responsibilities."
Our youngest historians in TK and Kindergarten dazzled us with their creativity and enthusiasm. Dressed in character, they proudly paraded around the playground, showcasing their vibrant posters and sharing their newfound knowledge. Their bright smiles and engaging presentations were a testament to their hard work and the joy of learning.
First through fifth graders took their historical investigations to the next level, crafting in-depth projects that demonstrated their understanding of the theme. Some students embraced the power of technology, utilizing various platforms to present their findings in innovative and engaging ways.
This year's theme, "Rights and Responsibilities," provided a powerful framework for our students to explore the complexities of the past and its relevance to our present and future. Through their research and presentations, students utilized critical thinking skills, deepened their understanding of digital citizenship, and cultivated a sense of civic responsibility.
History Day was more than just a school event; it was a celebration of our students' hard work and dedication. It was a day where history came alive, fostering a deeper appreciation for the past and its enduring impact on our world. We are incredibly proud of all our Dragons and their remarkable achievements. We look forward to many more successful History Days in the years to come!
