SUPERINTENDENT'S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
May 9, 2025

Dear CSD Families,

I hope this message finds you well! This week, our elementary school sites hosted their Open House events, giving families the chance to see firsthand the amazing work our students and teachers are doing.

I had the pleasure of attending the Open House at THE ONTARIO CENTER SCHOOL, and I’m excited to share that it was a fantastic turnout! It was truly heartwarming to see so many families engaged and eager to connect with the school community. The energy was inspiring, and it’s clear that our students are thriving in such a supportive environment.

As we approach the end of this incredible school year, I want to remind everyone that we have just 10 school days left. These final days offer a wonderful opportunity to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished and to make the most of every moment we have together. Whether we’re wrapping up projects, supporting our students on their learning journeys, or celebrating the growth and dedication we’ve witnessed all year, let’s make these last days count. Let’s finish strong and proud of all that we’ve achieved!

A big thank you to all the parents and families who attended the Open House, and for your continued support. We look forward to finishing the school year with excitement and gratitude.

As a special highlight, below are some pictures from our recent Open House event, capturing the joy and pride shared by our students, teachers, and families. Enjoy!

Take Care,
Michael Chaix, Ed.D.

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT

THE ONTARIO CENTER SCHOOL
 By Principal Narrie Gavares

The students of The Ontario Center School (TOCS) recently had a fantastic opportunity thanks to a generous community outreach initiative from the Los Angeles Angels Baseball organization. Our 3rd through 5th graders were thrilled to participate in a one-day baseball clinic right here on our school grounds. The clinic offered a fun and engaging introduction to baseball skills through various stations, games, and even Quickball, a modified and inclusive version of the sport. It was wonderful to see our students learning and laughing alongside the Angels' representatives.

This incredible event was provided at no cost to the school, and the generosity of the Angels extended even further. Every participating student received a free Angels Baseball cap, and each family will also receive four complimentary tickets to an Angels game in June. TOCS would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the entire Los Angeles Angels organization for bringing this exciting and memorable experience to our students. It's partnerships like these that truly enrich our school community.
