Rancho Cucamonga Middle School By Principal Bobby Collins
Welcome to December! As we tackle the final weeks of 2025, the students and staff at RCMS are diligently working to complete the final days of the first semester. Can you believe that we are almost halfway through the school year?! RCMS Lions know the importance of finishing the semester strong. We teach students how to advocate for themselves, build the communication skills to speak with their teachers regarding grades and assignments, and instill the importance of personal accountability. One way students are preparing to launch into the 2nd semester is with our mid-year iReady diagnostic. This test helps teachers understand how well students are progressing toward grade-level expectations in reading and math. It identifies strengths, areas that need more support, and any learning gaps that may have developed since the beginning of the year. By providing detailed, individualized data, the test allows teachers to adjust instruction, form targeted small groups, and ensure students receive the right support to stay on track for end-of-year goals. We can’t wait to acknowledge all the growth our teachers and students have worked so hard to achieve!
Also, join me in wishing our 6th grade students luck and safe travels as they embark for Pali Outdoor Education Institute in Running Springs, CA. Our students will be spending three days in this beautiful setting learning skills, building confidence, and cultivating new friendships. This annual trip is a favorite among students, and one they will remember for a lifetime.
