Dear CSD Families,
As we move through September—National Attendance Awareness Month—I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible effort our students are making each and every morning.
Across our schools, our classrooms are full, bright, and ready for learning right when the first bell rings. Seeing our students arrive on time, excited to learn, and focused on their goals is a powerful reminder of what makes our district community so special.
We know that getting students up, ready, and to school on time every day takes tremendous effort and dedication from our parents, guardians, and families. Thank you for your continued partnership and for prioritizing your child's education daily. A special thank you also goes to our teachers, campus supervisors, and support staff, who greet our students with warm smiles every morning!

Los Amigos Elementary School

CSD Community,
I am excited to share some wonderful updates on how our school culture and programs are flourishing this fall. Through our commitment to Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), our classrooms are supportive spaces where students are taking active ownership of their community.
Capturing Kids’ Hearts & PBIS in Action
Our students and staff are actively engaging in practices that build trust, connection, and accountability every day.
- Social Contracts: Every classroom has collaboratively developed a Social Contract outlining how students and teachers agree to treat one another. Students are now stepping into leadership roles as raters, holding themselves and their peers accountable to these shared values.
- Morning Meetings & Journaling: Days begin with intentional connection through morning meetings filled with "Good Things" and quiet reflection through journaling and reviewing Social Contracts.
- Library "Good Things" & Friday Announcements: Starting this week, students visiting Ms. Haro in the library can submit written "Good Things." Each Friday during morning announcements, a select few will be read aloud so our entire school community can recognize and celebrate these positive moments together.
After-School Enrichment & Intervention Programs
Our targeted after-school programming begins this week to support both academic growth and creative exploration.
